A note from us
We signed the papers in July. Now we want to celebrate properly, on the island of Dreams. Djerba in October means 26° days, a 25° sea and long golden evenings.

Things to know about Djerba
North Africa's largest island: flat, sun-bleached, all olive groves, palms and whitewashed farmsteads. Homer's crew forgot to go home here. UNESCO listed the whole island in 2023.
Traders since 1200 BC, Roman purple dye, and the corsair Dragut, who beat the Spanish here in 1560. Borj El Kebir fort still stands.
Ibadi and Sunni Muslims alongside one of the world's oldest Jewish communities. El Ghriba synagogue draws pilgrims every spring.
Thick-walled, lime-washed courtyard houses with domes to keep cool, set inside walled farms. We're celebrating in one.
Guellala's potters have worked the same clay for two thousand years. Find all three at Midoun's Friday market.
One long sandy north coast, warm shallow lagoons, and from autumn the Ras R'mel spit fills with pink flamingos.
Ajim's harbour was Mos Eisley in the first Star Wars. Nearby Erriadh is now Djerbahood, 250 murals from thirty countries.
Island manners
Say "aslema" before you ask, accept the mint tea, haggle with a smile, ask before photographing people, and cover up a little away from the resort strip. Friday is market day and some shops close around midday prayer.

Wedding party programme
Times are local (UTC+1: same as the UK, one hour behind France). Shuttles leave the guest hotel from 2:30pm and run back until the doors close.
Welcome drinks and mezze in the courtyard of the Dar. Find your seat, find the shade, find the people you haven't seen in years.
We make our entrance with the people standing beside us. Bring your voices.
Seated at long tables under the palms: Mediterranean and Tunisian, generous, followed by the sweet table as the lanterns come on.
Our first dance opens the floor, then music, surprises and animations through the night.
Last shuttles back to the hotel. Sleep well.
The venue
We're celebrating in a Dar, the island's traditional house: thick lime-washed walls, white domes, a shaded inner courtyard and a garden of palms and olive trees. Welcome drinks in the courtyard, dinner at long tables in the garden, dancing under the fairy lights once the sun goes down.
The ground is lawn, gravel and tiles, so skip the stilettos. Evenings drop to about 18°, bring a wrap.
The exact address will be shared with confirmed guests closer to the date.

How to get there
Djerba has its own airport, 30 minutes from the hotel, with direct flights of 2–3½ hours from most of Europe.
No direct flight? Fly to Tunis and connect on Tunisair Express (50 min, three a day).
Give us your flight details in the RSVP and we'll help arrange your transfer. Otherwise a taxi is about 20–30 TND (≈ €6–9). Car hire runs 80–130 TND a day.

Accommodation
A beachfront four-star in the Midoun tourist zone, and the pick-up point for the wedding shuttles: private beach, outdoor and heated indoor pools, spa, four restaurants, tennis and a kids' club. The kind of place where a weekend turns into a week.
